The Fredericktown Christmas Walk is fast approaching and preparations are well underway for many of the events, which will be held on December 2nd. One of the largest events of that day will be the 6th annual Food For The Hungry Antiques and Collectibles Auction to be held at 1p.m. at the Senior Citizens’ Building. All funds raised at this auction are donated to Fredericktown Interchurch Social Services and Salvation Army.

To date, some exciting items have been contributed to the auction. Experience Columbus has donated a fantastic weekend package, which includes a 2 night stay at The Doubletree Hotel in Worthington, tickets to the Saturday, December 8th Columbus Blue Jackets hockey game, 2 tickets to the Columbus Wildlights at the Zoo, a $25 gift certificate to Champs Americana Restaurant in Worthington and a family pass to the Ohio Historical Society. The Cleveland Browns have donated an autographed football from guard Eric Steinbach to the auction this year, and there will be an autographed Ohio State flag autographed by former quarterback Craig Krenzel. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum has donated two tickets to the auction this year, and both Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods will be donating gourmet food assortments. Locally, Kenyon College will be donating a night’s stay for two at the Kenyon Inn, Body Basics is contributing a 3-month membership, and the Mount Vernon Country Club is providing an hour golf lesson and apparel from their pro shop to the auction. More items will be announced in the coming weeks.

Quality items and services are still needed in order to make this auction a success. Donations will be accepted until Friday, November 30th at the Fredericktown Village Office, and receipt letters will be issued for donors who wish to claim a tax deduction.
