FOOD FOR FINES

Food For Fines

Nov. 4–Dec. 4

During these dates, The Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County, including its branch libraries in Fredericktown, Danville and Gambier will be taking collections benefiting FFTH in which library fines may be paid with canned or boxed non-perishable food items equal to the value of the fine. For the purposes of this event, one food item is considered to be equal to $1. Free-will donations of food or money will also be gratefully accepted.

Items that are near their expiration dates or are in a damaged or compromised container will not be accepted. All donations will be given to the FFTH Drive. All donations will stay in the community in which it was given. The libraries will not accept food in payment for lost or damaged items.  In addition to food items, the library will accept Humane Society approved brands of pet food.
